June Update 2010

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
Well, the Bible says, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes it is the tree of life." -Proverbs 13:12
Hi Everyone,
We've been pretty busy lately and thought we'd give a quick update about what's been going on with us personally and our plans to move to North Carolina.
We certainly had our hopes up to move to North Carolina by this summer, and now our hearts are a little sick, but as we all know God's timing is often different from our own. We're believing that the delays are divine, and that God has a purpose in teaching us to wait on Him. That's easy to say, but when it's time to practically apply that belief I find myself reverting to impatience, frustration and disappointment.
We had hoped God would do a "miracle" and sell our home before June, but I'm starting to realize it's not as urgent as I made it. We're in no emergency and we have time to allow God to work unrushed. Our home has been up for sale since April but the current housing market makes it tough to sell a home in Vegas right now and move.
So we're going to sit it out and see what God does in the next few months. We'll leave our home up for sale and see what happens. I'm content and learning the basics all over over again: God, Family, Work and if I have any time left, Friends.
I recently got a new job here in Vegas working for an Air Conditioning company, Hacienda Air, doing A/C service calls. A friend from Church hired me. I am truly blessed to have a good job during these tough economic times. God has been so good and gentle to our family. This job is allowing me to re-establish a trade so that when we move to North Carolina, Lord willing, I will be able to get a solid job there doing A/C work as we pursue ministry and planting a church.
"A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps." Proverbs 16:9
If our home does not sell this summer we will prayerfully re-evaluate our options in the Fall. Perhaps we will look into renting out our condo here in Vegas so that we can move to NC within the next year. But we are in no rush and don't want to make any hasty decisions. We're grateful to have options and be in a position where we can wait upon God and His timing and allow circumstances to fall into place.
We want to thank those of you that think of us and have been praying for us through the changes over the past few months. Our family is surrounded with rich friendships and we absolutely experience God's love and grace through His people. We are trusting and hoping completely in God's will for our lives. We trust you're doing the same. Hope deferred does make the heart sick for a while, but we're also expecting God to eventually turn the detour into a tree of life.
"The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him." Lamentations 3:25
